Cecelia is a successful psychologist who, among many sessions, runs a support group for singe and divorced women. She's got troubles of her own, but it's her ensemble of neurotic patients who provide the action when a "volunteer" role-player becomes the hapless victim of their not-inconsiderable ire.

Meet the Cast...

The Island Theater Company is grateful to Ann Megna for stepping into the directing duties for Men Are Dogs.  Ann is a local actor and director and has been involved in Community Theater for 56 years.  She directed 39 Steps  for the Marco Players and was last seen on stage in ITC's production of Arsenic and Old Lace as Teddy Roosevelt.

 

 

 

 

 

Diana Back.jpgDiana Back as Cecelia Monahan

Diana is pleased to make her debut with the Island Theater Company as Cecilia.  She last appeared with the Marco Players as Cynthia in Second Time Around  this past January.  All of her previous acting was performed in Cape Cod, MA, including her role as "Mom" in the feature film Night of the Naked Dead.

Diana dedicates this play to God and her dog Sadie, who both led her to her husband Carl, where she found  true love.

Judy Daye is a veteran of Marco theater who brings over  twenty years experience to the character of Rose.  She has been in over twenty local productions including  Butterflies Are Free, Cemetery Club, and last season's Saga Of Roaring Gulch.  More recently she was one of the "Dancing Queens" in ITC's Singin' Broadway

Judy also performs with the Marco Island Historical Society re-enactors and recently brought to life Mary Todd Lincoln in Honestly, Abe? 

 

 

 

Ray Kane color.jpgRay Kane as Bob Crowley

Ray is pleased to be back on stage with the Island Theater Company.  He was previously cast in ITC’s Queen of Bingo in 2012.  Ray’s other roles include Doc Gibbs in Thornton Wilder’s Our Town with the Naples Players, Sam Nash in Neil Simon’s Plaza Suite, and Reginald Rose’s Twelve Angry Jurors with The Marco Players.  Ray, originally from the Philadelphia area, is retired living in Naples with his wife Ginny for the last eight years.

He is on the Board of Directors for the Literacy Volunteers of Collier County and loves playing softball with his many friends in the Marco Island Senior Softball League.

John is a 5th generation South Floridian. He was born and raised in Miami before marrying the love of his life, Ricki, and moving to Marco Island.  He made his stage debut in ITC's Mama Won't Fly and hasn't stopped acting since.  He had roles in Blame It On Beckett, Arsenic And Old Lace, and as the dastardly Bart Black in last season's Saga Of Roaring Gulch.

 

 

 

 

 

Abby Yetter.jpgAbby Yetter as Allison Taylor

Abby grew up in York, PA and has lived in this area for 5 years.  She began acting in musical theater at age 5 and had leading roles in many  productions including Peter Pan, Annie, and Oliver Twist.  Abby was first seen on the Marco stage in ITC's Blame It On Beckett  and Always A Bridesmaid.    Most recently she was in "Singin' Broadway" where she wowed the audience performing her two favorite show tunes from Phantom Of The Opera and Les Miserable's.

Carol acted throughout college, performing with Penn Players, Quadramics and Penn Children's Rep.  After a long break for work and to raise a family, she returned to the stage in the suburbs of Chicago, primarily performing at the Theater of Western Springs.  Locally Carol, has acted with Naples Players, The Studio Players, and is thrilled to be back with the Island Theater Company where she was in their inaugural production of A Bad Year For Tomatoes

This is Maria's first time back on stage since her second grade school production in Columbia.  As a realtor she thought that acting could help her  pronounce English correctly.  She is thrilled to be a member of the cast and says "it's the first of many to come."  

In her spare time she and her son, Chris, have taken on their first condo renovation.

Monica graduated with a degree in theater from the college of Boca Raton (Lynn University) in 1981.She then moved to Marco Island where she has lived for the past 36 years while raising her son.  Monica performed in two  plays for the original Marco Island Players back in the early 80's and is excited to be back on stage again.
