YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS - Phillip "Chance" Chancellor IV
Born in Woodbridge, Va., John Driscoll was raised in a military family. A natural athlete, Driscoll excelled in sports, particularly soccer, baseball, football and lacrosse. He attended George Mason University, where he majored in theater, appearing in productions of The Odd Couple, Dangerous Liaisons and The Vagina Monologues. He also modeled professionally, appearing on the runway and in catalogs for clients such as Armani, Versace and Hecht's. Modeling led to acting in commercials and onstage in musical theater.
Driscoll’s first roles included Brandon on Young Americans, in addition to a recurring role on Dawson's Creek and The Book of Daniel. He is best known, however, for his portrayal of "Coop" on the daytime drama Guiding Light. In 2009, Driscoll made his debut as Chance Chancellor, another scion of an established soap family, on The Young and the Restless. He continued in this role until his character was shot and apparently killed by his half-brother, Ronan. In 2012, Driscoll followed in his father's footsteps and joined the United States Army National Guard
